Cyclic loads such as Injection Molding machines are perfect applications for Powerboss. The hydraulic pump motor within the machine is only on load for a relatively short period of the total machine cycle, the period when the material is injected into the molding tool. During the rest of the cycle the motor runs at around 5% load.
The Maxell company in Telford is one of the largest producers of recording medium components in the UK and employs more than 30 Injection Molding machines.
A Powerboss unit was fitted to a machine working 16Hrs per day manufacturing CD cases. Powerboss made a saving of 15% producing a payback period of less than eighteen months.
Powerboss has now been fitted to all the remaining Injection Molding machines on the site.
