In 2000 the world famous Changi Airport in Singapore approved a roll-out program for the fitting of Powerboss units to over 70 passenger escalators, travelators and baggage conveyors within the airport complex.
Exhaustive tests over a six-month period confirmed the reliability of Powerboss as well as providing an average 18% saving on electricity consumption.
Due to the soft start features within Powerboss a considerable reduction in maintenance costs is expected.
Changi is one of the worlds largest airports, in a survey conducted by Conde Nast Traveller (UK), readers voted Singapore Changi Airport the "World's Best Airport" for the 2nd year running. Changi Airport received the award at the Readers' Travel Awards ceremony in London on the 12th September 2000.
